You are amazing!

Yes you are! You are amazing. Even if you do not realise it, your body is amazing and is performing thousands of tasks each day to help you survive and hopefully thrive. 

What are some of the amazing facts and fun stuff that happens in the body that you may not know? 

  • There are over 100,000 miles of blood vessels in the adult human body
  • When awake the human brain produces enough energy to power a light bulb
  • Your heartbeat changes and mimics the music you are listening to.
  • Your brain uses 20% of the total oxygen and blood in your body
  • There are more bacteria in your mouth than there are people in the world
  • It takes about 0.2 seconds for your brain to recognise something touching your hand or      foot.

As you can see our body is amazing and really the best doctor is within you. If the role of a doctor is to help you achieve better health (Hopefully that is the goal) then as you can see Dr You is the most powerful doctor on the planet. 

Where we see problems arise in Dr You providing exceptional health to you it is often due to life​style choices which place us under too much physical, chemical or mental overload. 

The human machine has a wonderful ability to adapt, regulate, heal and evolve but we also have limitations. If our lifestyle demands outweigh our recuperative powers then our health tends to decline. ​So in other words as is so often the theme in my writings pay close attention to your lifestyle choices. Even when everything seems to be going well I recommend that you have some thought to keeping balance in your life. Balance between rest and exercise. Balance between calm mind and switched on. Balance between clean eating and letting a few unhealthy treats in. Balance between work and rest. 

Above all remember to have faith in your body that it knows what is best for you. It can heal from difficult predicaments and even seemingly incurable conditions in some cases if we create the most healing environment.​
